Mattie is a Professional Counselor Associate who works with adults and strives to connect with others to create a warm and safe space for growth, healing, and desired change.
Mattie recognizes that people are the experts in their own lives, and she believes in the inherent ability of each individual to create hope, change, and healing for themselves. Everyone is capable of finding their own path and their own sense of self-worth in the maze that is life.
Mattie strives to help people navigate those corners, and may encourage more self-compassion along the way as well as exploration of one’s narratives that may have developed throughout life. She uses a holistic and eclectic approach catered to whatever needs arise that is strength-based, client-centered, and culturally-responsive . Mattie views counseling as a collaborative partnership between client and therapist and endeavors to understand each person’s unique context, culture, identity, and relationships with the self and with others. Integrating evidence-based interventions as appropriate tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals, Mattie works as an empathetic listener and warm facilitator of new perspectives, self-awareness, and growth.
Outside of the office, she enjoys reading, doing arts such as drawing and crocheting, listening to music, being outside in nature, spending time with (and talking about) her cat, and trying new types of coffee and tea.
