Julian Small
Professional Counselor Associate
Areas of Focus
Julian uses an integrative/eclectic person-centered, solution-focused, strengths-based approach to work collaboratively with his clients.
Julian uses interventions from the various evidence-based practices he has been trained in, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness. These techniques act as a helping hand so the client may be the catalyst for change to meet their individualized goals/needs. He views therapy as a collaborative process that considers each individual’s unique background, identity, culture, and spheres of influence.
The bulk of his clinical experience has occurred with the young adult/college population and children/adolescents/families. The remainder of his experience was spent in the hospital/in-patient setting. In his free time, he enjoys backpacking throughout the PNW, Urban/Landscape Photography or relaxing through gaming with his two cats.
