Featured Therapist: Linda Cathey
Linda holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Services as well as a Master of Education degree in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Oregon. Currently, Linda is working towards her MFT licensure in Oregon as a registered Oregon intern. Outside of the office, Linda enjoys outdoor activities: hiking, fishing, listening to music outside, traveling, cycling – you name it! Inside the office, she specializes in the management of anxiety and depression, and has found that in many cases anxiety and depression are related to a past traumatic event. Consequently, trauma is a strong focus of Linda’s work with clients.
Linda firmly believes that change is always possible, and works with her clients using a strengths-based approach. Her process allows the client and therapist to work together as advocates whose sole ambition is to achieve the client’s desired goals. Linda is compassionate but also a straight shooter who’s known for ‘telling it like it is’ sometimes injecting her great sense of humor into her treatment. Linda works on a private pay basis, and her rates range from $50 to $100 depending on patient need.

A note on pre-licensed therapists:
Pre-licensed private pay therapists work exclusively with patients who either do not have insurance or prefer not to involve their insurance company in treatment decisions. Although we do have therapists who take insurance, our therapists that work on a private pay basis provide an alternative to clients with special needs and desires. At Eugene Therapy, we feel that our trained and experienced pre-licensed therapists are extremely valuable because they offer a high quality of service and actually already have years of therapy experience under their belts.
